Your variable transmission or CVT controls the transfer ratio between the crankshaft and the final delay of a scooter. It is essential that it is well adjusted to achieve the maximum return. The system consists of a floating pulley, also known as the variant with roles, and a driven pulley that also has the coupling.

When adjusting, there are 3 important aspects:

  1. Pressure spring: this offers resistance to make the variant work and keeps the string on tension. If there is more power and string slip occurs, a stronger pressure spring is needed. Most original pressure springs are suitable up to 5 hp.
  2. Rolls in the variant: these provide the mass force that ensures that the Variation House moves and the string rises in the pools.
  3. Trek springs in the coupling: these determine the moment of the coupling. The link works until it has been taken against the house, then the transfer takes over.

The two most important aspects are the pressure spring and the roles. Always start with the pressure spring. A schedule has been drawn up below to determine what pressure spring is needed. In general, the following applies: use a stronger pressure spring with string slip or persistent dips, or a stronger pressure spring at higher power.

Guidelines (based on common malossi printing springs):

  • Original cylinder: usually original pressure spring
  • 50cc cast iron: original or white
  • 50cc aluminum Middel -tour: white or yellow
  • 50CC Aluminum Highlight: Yellow or Red
  • 70cc cast iron Low -speed: yellow
  • 70CC Aluminum Middelour: yellow or red
  • 70cc aluminum High touring: Red

You then determine the correct rolling weight by testing. Start 1 gram lighter than the original weight for your specific motorcycle brand. Adjust this so that it is best to accelerate to the top speed without dips.

NB! With an unlimited engine block, the transmission adjustment does not have to be changed. This must remain in original factory adjustment.

Finally, you can adjust the draw springs. The adjustment of this should not be too difficult. Find the right speed where the link is best.

The strength of the Malossi migration springs in order for these brands is as follows:

  • Minarelli: White - Yellow - Red
  • Honda/Kymco/Peugeot/Piaggio: yellow and red
  • Kymco/Peugeot/Piaggio = 105 mm: White - Green - Purple
